Health & Safety Management Solutions

MOL Fines - WSIB Increased Rates - Stop Work Orders: Imagine them being a thing of the past when you're able to comply with the regulations set forth by the Government.

NOC: National Occupational Classification NOC, is a systematic taxonomy of all occupations in the Canadian labour market. Organized into two volumes, it describes 923 distinct occupations in terms of aptitudes, interests, education, physical activities, and other qualifiers. A separate index further classifies over 25,000 job titles from the listed occupations.

Certified Equipment: The right equipment for the right job. Manufacturers who are able to provide documentation and certification on the PPE your workers will use day to day will have their equipment listed in the stock listing for you and your workers to choose from. Manufacturers who are unable or unwilling to provide documentation to back up claims of complying with CSA, ANSI or other current regulations will not be added to the PPE list to ensure your employees will be using the right equipment for their job tasks.

PPE Personal Protective Equipment: Different job tasks have different needs for PPE. A daytime construction worker might not need reflective circular stripes on their arm, waist or leg where as a night time worker would require these by legislation. A typical shop worker that doesn't work in proximity to an arc flash hazard would wear one type of clothing while an electrician or hydro worker would be required to wear conforming to the CSA or ANSI Standard, some garment suppliers use certified materials but do not follow through with having the final garment certified thus these garments will not be allowed in the product supply chain reducing potential risk of injury and work place accidents while reducing your liability.

Training: Ensures that employees who require training are trained and trained properly. With the NOC codes we are able to come up with Industrial - Construction work training requirements such as PPE, Fall Arrest Protection, Confined Space, MSDS, ARC Flash, AED, CRP, First Aid, Workplace Violence and Harassment, New Worker, Power Tools...

Employee Certifications & Qualifications: Do you have a current copy of your service technicians drivers license, what would you do if your driver or service tech forgot to update their address or missed paying the Ministry to get a new permit.

Medicare - OHIP card, if a worker was injured on the job and was transported to the hospital without proof or coverage it would be treated as non insured and Pay As You Go, you might be able to petition for reimbursement but would have to pay at time of visit which could be in the tens of thousands.

Your Red Seal Trade Service Person, just moved from another Province or State and forgot to update their address, never getting an update at their new address they simply forget that it is expiring soon, leaving you completely open to any liability.

Think of an electrician who wire a new house and for some reason it burnt down or an industrial panel that exploded injuring your customers worker.

How about a welder that welded up some OWSJ and with an unusually heavy snow load the roof collapses and civilians are trapped and injured.

Labour by H&S Department: Choose from a pre qualified list of suppliers for all your needs. From day one you will be able to choose equipment from a pre selected list of supplier who's mandate is to supply you and your employees with equipment you have chosen from a full line certified list. Not just one pair of boots from one supplier but multiple boot types from multiple supplier across North America. Qualified Suppliers must adhere to a strict code of conduct and ethics to ensure that employees obtain only the PPE designated for them from the list you authorized. Point of purchase when 8" high boots are required for the job or job site shoes will rejected by the system.

Purchasing: Suppliers contracts guarantee prices for the calendar year. Pre selected suppliers will be required to quote the contract January 1st of every year and maintain these prices for the fiscal year, any changes to pricing will need to be approved and validated prior to being changed.

Invoices: Through a network of dealers that will be linked to your specific safety needs you and your Employees will be able to make purchases in person or to be shipped. Supplier invoices will go directly to HSM for approval and then to your accounting department at no extra costs. You will be billed bi-monthly saving time and effort on your accounting staff, Detailed reports allow accounting to proof who did what and when as Employees are linked with a HSM security card for all transactions.

No longer will you see some months of the year with PPE purchases that are uncontrollable not only in size but finance.

Cost Forecasting: Monthly budgets set up in advance to keep spending spikes under control. Based on your NOC code and number of workers we are able to give you an estimated annual budget for PPE and Training to keep you most valuable asset safe, your workers.

Lost Time: Employee ID cards will allow access to PPE from inside stores / vending machines or pre qualified suppliers.

How long does it take a worker to walk from one end of the plant to another to get one pair of gloves or safety glasses, with talking to a couple of co workers on the way, waiting for the store keeper to finish entering his last computer entry and start a new conversation about the weekend you should be looking at from 10 to 40 minutes lost production by all involved. Stores you will still loose time but as the card will be logged in the system you can see lost time at stores.

Vending machines don't make for good conversations. Pre qualified suppliers understand it's all about time and as part of their contracts know not to waste your valuable time.

Real time usage of the employees purchasing card will allow you to see within seconds who, what, when and when.

Inspections / Maintenance: Provided qualified service companies with qualified personnel to meet your needs.

-Inspections: Let's say service vehicles, a weekly report is due by the Employee to HSM every Monday at 7:30, by 8:00 the Employee will receive a deficient email, 8:30 the Employee and Manager will receive a notice and so on until it is completed or a valid explanation is received. -Equipment: Your service coordinator will receive an update notifying them of inspections due on various equipment, they can call in an inspection or the system can automatically line them with certified suppliers up leaving you free to do everything else you do in a day. Your Contractors:

The system covers much more than this, it can also accommodate contractors in much the same ways as Employees: When you hire a contractor you might ask for WSIB & Liability insurance, these will be up to date and accessible to you live on the web portal. Updates:

MSDS: Updates are supplied when updated so you won't forget and don't have to chase for them. Training and certification notifications are automatic both to the worker and managers. Maintained by a full time staff to keep you compliant without dedicating all you time to it.
