When using manhole guardrails always look for confined space manhole guardrails that are 42 inches high to meet OSHA guidelines. Guardrails that are taller or shorter than 42" may not meet the requirements of a Manhole guardrail system, by adding the davit arm system you will be able to preform confined space entries or rescues easily. A davit arm system set up around a manhole, vault or hatch may not meet current regulations for fall protection for the attendant worker at the top of the entry.
